The company Bienentanz (“bee dance“) derives its name from the honey bee's ability to communicate by means of a unique dance. When a scout discovers a new source of food it returns to its hive to perform the dance in a manner that reveals to its hivemates where the food is located and how much is available there.

Bienentanz is a limited company based in Berlin, Germany. The position of Managing Director is held by Christian Boecker (born 1963), who was previously a freelance journalist, working for Germany’s most popular consumer programme on technical equipment, ARD-Ratgeber Technik (broadcast on the first German national TV channel “ARD”), for the commercial news channel n-tv (German equivalent of CNN) as well as for online media, newspapers and renowned tech companies. Previously, Christian Boecker worked in marketing for a biotech start-up. He has degrees in both Biology and Business Administration.
Bienentanz’s offices are located at “Hackesche Markt” in the heart of Berlin.
